So, your grand dad just passed away, and your dad walks up to you all teary eyed, and says "Ramu, here are the keys to grandads Amby, its your's now", so what do you say to your dad, well dont say it because we cant print it or put it on the web, the webmaster will pass out.

Ok so your about to commit suicide because Bholanath down the road just got a new Zen , and he is going to drag you out of the traffic lights every time, and the Chicks dont go for the slow cars any more (never did).

If your any thing like me when I was your age, you will immediatly start thinking of how to get this Family Chariot to get up and boogie and even be the fastest bucket of bolts, that the gang has seen, I can see all you esteem owners smirking, but just wait till Ramu gets his wepon of terror on the streets.

Ramu its time you met me the master blaster, of Ambis, the Ambi guru, and Mr Ambassador. Let me assume you dont have a lot of money, so all these mods will be relatively cheap, none of that fancy dollars and Lakhs stuff.

Before you start, remember that the ambi is the biggest pig that ever roamed the planet , its slow dosent handle and guzzels petrol, well the third item we wont worry about , because you cant have grunt and economy both in the same engine.

Lets start at the very beginning , its a very good place to start.

There is a book written by David Vizard, on how to build a mini engine, its an old book but it has all the masala you need to start working, if your really serious this book is worth its weight in gold, (it was a long time ago but i think this book is called "Boosting the .b."), Take the head off, this is done easily enough, and clean up the ports, with a grinding stone on the end of a flexible shaft, you will be surprised as to how grotty the head is, Im not going to suggest you get bigger valves because as i said we are trying to cut costs and all we want to do is kick bholanaths butt and win the chicks, ok, you can then take the head to the lathe shop and ask him to lop off a coupela thow, off this will raise the compression, now take off the rocker shaft and ask saggu Mistri the lathe operator to put a thick bush inside, once he has done this then re drill the rocker arms off center, what this does is allows you more lift in the valves altough you havnt changed the camshaft,, the inletand exhaust ports both have to be wider, , how wide, ..well the carby we are going to use is taken from a Nissan power wagon, the type the army uses, look in the choor baazar, and you will pick them up cheap, you need two, the ports will have to match these carbys. the manifold and linkage you have to make, how long ..?? well this is not the time for me to get really technical, so Ramu if your really serious i can answer all the questions, at the moment im just giving you ideas. Lets now attack the Block, bore it out to 60 over size and go back to the choor bazar and buy an old set of "Landmaster" Pistons, they are flat tops, Ramu a Landmaster is the grandfather of the Ambi now just go and get them. ok so now we lighten and balance the crank shaft, remember to do it with the clutch assembly ,flywheel and the crank pulley all attached, great now we are getting some where, you will now need the three branch exhaust system, i hope they are still avaliable, other wise you can make it, again lengths are important. Ok its now time to check out the chicks at the local college, how about Malini or whats her name??, you better get you intro lines ready shes going to love this love machine.

If you have got this right, your ambi should be really mooving by now, did i forget to tell you that you will need 100oct fuel, how do you get it , you got to know someone whos uncleji knows someone who works at the airport , that where its avaliable, dont worry about the costs, its too late Malini is more important now.

Now that your ambi is The master blaster, you need to stop it and get it round corners, I useto put the bigger drums from the trekker, but im sure the Contessas discs will fit, get an old fiat (padmini) and pull off the front and rear stabiliser bar and with a littel ingunity you can fit these, hey how does she feel now, to cap this off put on some gypsy rims and the old JK steel belted radials, they were very good for traction , im not sure if they still make them.
