Membership of the W.I.A.A. carries with it virtual membership of all Automobile Associations in India, so that wherever a member may be, the services of those Associations will be extended to him.
TOURING ABROAD:

The Foreign Touring department of WIAA supplies information about travel in foreign countries,and provides members with Customs Carnets for temporary importation of their vehicles into countries to be visited. It also issues International Certificates for Motor Vehicles which permit circulation in other countries, and International Driving Permits which eliminates the need for a separate Driving Licence in each country. Information on the rules and regulations governing the import of motor vehicles into India is also furnished to the members.
The
Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) is the voice of the
motorist and committed to motoring in its widest sense. It is a Federation
of national motor clubs - 149 in all, representing 116 countries
- which together comprise nearly 100 million motorists and their families.
Since its birth in 1904, the FIA has been dedicated to representing
the interests of motoring organisations and motor car users throughout the
world. It is also the governing body of all world motor sport.The FIA has two divisions : Touring and the Automobile (General Motoring). This division is responsible for all matters related to the motorist, such as road safety, environment, touring, mobility and consumer protection. Sport. The FIA is also the governing body of world motor sport . All forms of motor sport performed by a land vehicle with four or more wheels come under the jurisdiction of the FIA. This includes Formula One, Formula 3000, touring car, GT racing, rallying, karting, truck racing, hill climbing, ice racing, electro solar racing, historic cars etc.
The
Alliance Internationale de Tourisme (AIT), which celebrated its
centenary in 1998, is a worldwide non-profit, non-governmental organization
representing through its open-air, touring and motoring associations over
100,000,000 individuals around the globe. It was founded in 1898
by seventeen European and American cycling clubs with the purpose of catering
to cycling and hiking tourists who ventured to cross their national frontiers
in search of adventure abroad.AIT Services
Facilitating breakdown assistance, repatriation of vehicles as well as customs transactions and the obtainment of visas, the AIT through its Letter of Credit and Assistance Booklet, the Carnet de Passages en Douane, the Tourist Carnet, and Camping Card International promotes safe travel and freedom of personal mobility for tourists and travellers worldwide ensuring that their interests are upheld at an international level.
