Soak the entire vehicle with a low-pressure
stream of water
(using a
hosepipe or merely splashing with a tumbler - to remove the
loose dirt particles on the surface)and then wipe it
using a soft damp cloth or sponge. Wiping the car straight
away can cause dirt particles to embed and stratch the paint.
-
Using special car-wash soaps help removal of
dirt. Normal detergents can be harsh on the cars wax finish.
-
Start at the top and work down to the lower
areas of your car to avoid risk of picking up dirt particle
or tar pieces below and dragging them over your car's upper,
high profile paint finish.
-
The lower body panels and the underside of
your car are most prone to collect stubborn roadway contaminants,
and are the areas that require the maximum cleaning attention.
-
Dry your car using synthetic chamois (a leatherlike
cloth). A chamois is smoother than normal cloth (which can accumulate
small dirt particles) and is effective for the final wipe down
of your car. Remember to dry your vehicle from top to bottom.
