New Delhi 24th July, 1999 The 1st Leaseplan Fuel Average Test (Lease Plan FAT) was carried out on Saturday 24th July 1999 on Maruti Zen, Hyundai Santro and Daewoo Matiz under actual urban conditions. Results on a course which was three times around Delhi on the Ring Road, estimated distance approximately 153 kilometres. The Leaseplan Fuel Average Test is not an artificial fuel economy drive but an actual fuel average test where all cars were subject to normal Indian city driving conditions with air-conditioners on at all times under equal conditions as far as were practically possible at the same time. The Results - Daewoo Matiz consumed 11.15 litres. (approx 13.722 kilometres per litre) Hyundai Santro consumed 11.73 litres (approx 13.043 kilometres per litre) = 3.408% more than Matiz. Maruti Zen consumed 12.95 litres (approx 11.815 kilometres per litre) = 16.143% more than Matiz.
