The
Mumbai Auto Show 2000 started like how an old jalopy would start on
a cold winter morning - splutter..splutter..splutter. Hey! the atmosphere
here would make all cold storage businesses go green with envy....no
no not the a/c halls - the response to this show sure looks like COLD.
 What
would you expect with only 2 car and 3 two wheeler manufacturers participating
in this show. The show organizers informed that they had helped save
money by using the same props that were used by an I.T.show that was
held at the same place a few days back. They also timed it well and
looked forward to attract an audience which has come into Mumbai from
all over India to pay homage to the father of Indian constitution -
Babasaheb Ambedkar, on his death aniversary. Enterprising endevour alright.
 Two
wheeler manufacturers Bajaj Auto, TVS Suzuki, and Kinetic Group saved
some grace with Kinetic Group displaying the GF 125 motorcycle
that looks hot. Hyundai Motors teased visitors by displaying the Tiburon
Turbulence along with the Santro and Accent. Also on display are Designercars
a range of custom-developed cars for Indian markets by Mahindra Auto
Specialities Ltd. a 100 percent subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra
Ltd. Hindustan Motors displayed the Ambassador Classic 1800 ISZ with
CNG
