The Mumbai Auto Show 2000 started like how an old jalopy would start on a cold winter morning - splutter..splutter..splutter. Hey! the atmosphere here would make all cold storage businesses go green with envy....no no not the a/c halls - the response to this show sure looks like COLD.
Kinetic GF125What would you expect with only 2 car and 3 two wheeler manufacturers participating in this show. The show organizers informed that they had helped save money by using the same props that were used by an I.T.show that was held at the same place a few days back. They also timed it well and looked forward to attract an audience which has come into Mumbai from all over India to pay homage to the father of Indian constitution - Babasaheb Ambedkar, on his death aniversary. Enterprising endevour alright.
Designercars - Voila - for women on the goTwo wheeler manufacturers Bajaj Auto, TVS Suzuki, and Kinetic Group saved some grace with Kinetic Group displaying the GF 125 motorcycle that looks hot. Hyundai Motors teased visitors by displaying the Tiburon Turbulence along with the Santro and Accent. So the show has nothing much but we did find a few gems among the 60 participants.

What we saw at the show -
   PN-NJ Industries Pvt. Ltd

This company has developed a new product - 'PN-NJ oil cooler kit' for heavy and light commercial vehicle engines like Telco, 692 / 697 / 407 / 207 series and Ashok Leyland 375 / 410 series which they launched at the show. The product promises a substantial 15 to 20% saving in the daily running cost of trucks and buses - This may not mean much for passenger car owners (unless you want to spruce up your Sumos) but it sure is a very valuable development for commercial vehicle owners and the transportation industy - click here to know more
