The Mumbai Auto Show was aimed at consumers (automobile owners and enthusiasts)
rather than at the trade segment.
Amongst the exhibitors were leading automobile companies, auto-finance
companies, auto-design consultants and auto-accessory companies.
ACMA provided a platform to enlighten the consumers about spurious components.
Also on display were vintage cars from Mr. Pranlal Bhogilal's price-less
collection of Rolls Royces. Additional attractions for visitors included
a Porsche, a Ferrari and a Lotus Espirit from a private collection and
India's only Formula 1 race car (the Formula Mayura Car). The Mumbai RTO
had put up a touch-screen kiosk where you could test your knowledge of
traffic signals and signs, which was a major attraction for children as
well as their parents, while BEST also had a stall informing the visitors
of their newly introduced bus-pass service. For the young-at-heart the
Mumbai Auto Show also had simulator and games and a display of Go-Kart
racing cars complete with a mini race track.
