The Indian automotive industry has emerged as one of the most vibrant sectors of the Indian economy. A US$ 8bn industry, it continues to contribute 5-6% to the national GDP. This industry plays a major role in shaping India’s economy and its future. India has also emerged as the most lucrative manufacturing base in the developed world.
The vehicle production is projected to go up to 5.6 mn by the year 2000. The Indian auto components sector is highly developed and technologically diverse. Capable of meeting the complete requirements of all vehicles with 100% locally produced components. The industry holds maximum promise in the export markets. The existing exports of US$ 330 mn are set to exceed US$ 1 bn by 2005.

Auto Enterprise 2000, a big show for small enterprise in the automotive sector, is an ideal opportunity for small-sized manufacturers of auto accessories and auto components to promote their products among OEMs and other visitors, both from India and abroad.

AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENT MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION OF INDIA
ACMA is the national body of the Indian auto component industry. Its members include firms that manufacture components and accessories for the automotive market in India and abroad. ACMA has a membership of over 400 companies which contribute 90% of the total output in the organised sector.
