
KINETIC
LAUNCHES ITS GF SERIES IN TECHNICAL COLLABORATION WITH HYOSUNG
New Delhi, 12 January
2000.... Kinetic, the leading Pune-based manufacturer of
two-wheelers in the country, launched its GF series
at the on-going Auto Expo. The GF series includes GF
125 and GF 150. The GF series is the result of
the recent tie-up with the Rs 9600 crore Hyosung Corporation,
the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in South Korea.
The collabration of Kinetic and Hyosung involves the transfer
of technology, spares and engineering support.
The
stunning GF series will be the first motorcycle in
India to have the advanced 4-stroke, 4-valve engine.
Their box type dual cradle chassis is designed to reduce
vibration and jerks and also gives a stable ride with an
even distribution of load. Some of the other latest features
include TPFC (Transient Power Fuel Control) for better accelaration
and electric start, disc brakes and cast alloy wheels. It
has an internationally acclaimed styling with a sculpted
fuel tank design.
The GF 125
will be available in the markets by mid-June and GF 150
will hit the market six months after the launch of the GF
125.

GF models have proven themselves on the urban as well as
the rural roads of South Korea and many more countries.
The time is also right for their launch with the rapid growth
in motorcycle demand in India. We except a significant contribution
from motorcycles to fuel the growth in the coming two years,"
said Mr. Arun Firodia, Chairman, Kinetic Group.
Hyosung
corporation, founded in 1957 is one of the top ten conglomerates
of South Korea with interest in textiles, chemicals, metals
and lumber trading, industrial projects, information technology
and importantly vehicles and transportation.

turnover of US $ 250 million i.e. Rs. 1100 crore and has
a dominant share of the South Korean motorcycle market where
other global companies like Honda are also operational.
The motorcycles produced by Hyosung Motors are exported
to more than 60 countries and the recipient countries include
Vietnam, Brazil, Spain, France, Germany and the USA to name
a few.
The in-house R&D
base of Hyosung has developed about 15 different models
of two-wheelers including 6 state-of-the-art motorcycles.
As many as 9 models out of this range have received the
good design certification from the South Korean Ministry
of Commerce, Industry and Energy.
The
foray into motorcycles is of special significance to kinetic
towards the achievement of their vision of crossing the
Rs 2000 crore mark by the year 2003. With the launch of
the motorcycles kinetic will offer the widest range of two-wheelers
in the country, a reflection of their motto, A Kinetic for
Everyone.
Kinetic has an
intensive distribution in large cities and in small towns
with more than 500 dealers, 300 sub-dealers and more than
1000 Authorised Service Centres. The Group has also set-up
a manufacturing facility, a world class ISO 9001 certified
