Escorts Yamaha
Motor Limited, the true Indian giant in two wheelers from
India is flexing its muscles at the Auto Expo 2000. A pioneer
and leader in the business, EYML is a joint Venture Company
through an alliance of Escorts Limited, the flagship company
of the Rs 3600 crore Escorts Group and the Rs 26,400 crore

Together they form a formidable global force, with 19 plants
employing 20,000 people of Escorts, and 60 plants of Yamaha
spread over 45 countries.
Top of the line Road-runners
EYML has the distinction of having put 25 lakh bikes
of varying capacities on Indian roads in over three decades,
from its state of the art manufacturing plants at Faridabad
in Haryana and Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh.
In a way,
EYML in its nascent stage as Escorts taught the country
how to ride. It introduced the Rajdoot range over
three decades ago, which has since then become an institution
on two Wheels. Sturdy, dependable, the Rajdoot earned for
itself a cult status that still endures to this day. An
ever dependable workhorse, the bike has become the mainstay
of transportation in small towns and semi-rural areas all
over the country.
The alliance
with Yamaha gave EYML free access to Yamaha's world class
R&D and manufacturing facilities, resulting in successive
launches of the legendry power-performance Yamaha RX
Series. The RX 100, still considered to be one of
the best bikes the Indian rider has experienced. RX 135,
incorporating a powerful 132cc, 12 BHP engine and the internationally
patented Yamaha Energy Induction System. EYML
unleashed the power of Z, in the sporty Yamaha RXZ, for
the upper urbane segment - stylishly crafted with an aerodynamic
profile. RX Tiger, another classic model which put
'the roar within the reach' of Indian riders. And the ACE
175, a bike of contemporary technology.
In 1997.
EYML became the first two wheeler company in India to launch
three models simultaneously in one single year. And the
latest to hit the road is the YBX 4-stroke.A bike that delivers
the best of both worlds, a combination of power and fuel
efficiency. Having thus set the pace for new launches, EYML
plans to follow up its track record with a number of machines
in the coming year, with even more advanced features.
Technology for
a Better World
To EYML,
an ISO 9002 certified company, setting engineering and design
excellence standards have ceased to be the only criteria.
As an industry leader, through its worldwide R&D facilities
the emphasis today is on creating machines which can deliver
power and performance, in unison with factors such as eco-friendliness
and low fuel consumption.
As an industry
leader within INdia, and a world leader in the arena of
two wheelers, EYML is going full-speed ahead in its path-breaking
