The Safari is Tata's premium multiutility car. The car is powered by the same basic engine as the Tata Sierra Turbo - 1948 cc diesel, with the supercharger giving it a big 32% power boost to deliver 90 bhp of power. The car has a great styling - with a new chassis fitted with a body shell that make heads turn as the vehicle passes by on the road.

The 90 bhp turbo charged engine provides the car with excellent acceleration on the roads. The independent suspension with torsion bar in front and the rear is safe and comfortable. Anti-roll bars help reduce tendencies to roll or sway.

The brakes do not make the front to dive on heavy braking. The car is equipped with vacuum assisted independent hydraulic brakes on front & rear through tandem master cylinder and load conscious pressure reducing valve are provided for rear brakes.

The high ground clearance makes the car a good off-roader that can easily handle soggy jungle trails or rocky mountain roads.

Safari LX model comes without Music System, Remote Conrol, Tail Gate Balancer and has Single A/C, PVC Seat Lining and Reflectors instead of Door Lamps.

The car can comfortably seat five people and has additional jumpseats at the rear to seat three more persons.
