Equipped with the advanced TUD-5 engine, the Zen D delivers good performance. The 1.5 litre engine is from Peugeot Citroen Moteurs of France with whom Maruti Udyog has entered into a partnership to manufacture this fully integrated diesel car, which has been modified and adapted to Indian conditions.
Suspensions are front - independent with coil springs, and rear - 3-link rigid axle with isolated trailing arms, coil springs and gas-filled shock absorbers. The brakes are booster assisted dual-circuit disc (front) and drum (rear).
