1800 ISZ
 This
is one car in the history of Indian Automobiles which refuses to
die. Hindustan Motors has sucessfully fuel - indjected the Ambassador's
1817 cc Isuzu engine to comply with Euro I norms.
With MPFI,
power and torque have both improved considerably and fuel consumption
is claimed to have increased by around 12 per cent.
The Ambassador
is not just about space. It is also about comfort. 2-Way adjustable
(reclining & sliding) Bucket Seats (with plush velvet upholstery)
to enhance driving comfort.
The Ambassador has an engine of 4 in-line cylinders, which has a
max power of 75 bhp and a max torque of 13.8 Kgm
Servo assisted dual circuit hydraulic with 9.1/8" dia. drum
brakes on all four wheels, dual leading on front and leading trailing
on rear.
Independent suspension with torsion bar springs and Anti-roll bar
with hydraulic telescopic double acting shock absorbers in front
and Semi-elliptical leaf springs with hydraulic telescopic double
acting shock absorbers.
Apart from making the engine EuroII compliant , the company has
made some other improvements as well, notably to the body.
The other features of the Ambassadors include:
· New dashboard with easy to read instrument panel and control knobs
to ensure ease of operation.
· Factory fitted Air condtioners
· Provision for music system and clock
· Bucket seat with plush velvet upholstery
· Air volume adjustment knobs for controlling airflow
